Warhammer - Ork Bommer (1)

Ik ben onlangs begonnen aan mijn eerste 'bouwdoos' van Warhammer... Citadel goes Revell als het ware.

Het is een 'Ork Bommer' ofte 'Dakka Bommer' geworden en dit is het eerste stadium: de romp in basiskleuren... Er is nog een lange weg te gaan ;-)

Wordt vervolgd.

 

 

 

 

I recently started my first 'constuction kit' from  Warhammer... Citadel goes Revell in a way.

I chose the 'Ork Bommer' or 'Dakka Bommer' and this is the first stage: the fuselage in base colours... there is still a long way to go ;-)

Sherlock Holmes meets the King in Yellow (in miniature) (Reaper Miniatures)

 

'Sherlock Holmes meets the King in Yellow': misschien een ideetje voor Hollywood? Moet kunnen, na 'Abraham Lincoln, vampire hunter'  en 'Jack, the giant slayer'. :-)

De miniaturen (Sherlock en the King (28mm)) zijn van Reaper miniatures, de lantaarnpaal van Black Cat Bases en het diorama is gemaakt van fimo.

De 'lichteffecten' zijn toegevoegd met photoshop.

The minatures (Sherlock and the King (28mm)) are from Reaper miniatures, the lamppost from Black Cat Bases en the diorama is made from fimo.

The 'lighteffects' are added with photoshop.

 

 

De auto's van Kuifje in miniatuur (1) - Tintin's cars in miniature (1)

Een andere verzameling die ik al een paar jaar heb is die van één van de grootste Belgische striphelden uit de geschiedenis van het stripverhaal: Kuifje. Naast de albums verzamelde ik ook de metalen schaalmodellen (1/43) van de auto's uit de verhalen. Ze zijn letterlijk van een plaatje in het album 'tot leven gewekt' De modellen zijn van Atlas.

Another collection I own is from one of the greatest Belgian comic strip heroes of all times: Tintin. Next to the albums I collected the metal scale models (1/43) of the cars from the stories. They are literally a picture 'brought to life'. The models are from 'Atlas'

Lord of the Rings Helm collection - Sauron

Zoals eerder al gezegd: ik ben een verzamelaar. Begin jaren 2000 kwam de voor mij levenslang verwachte trilogie 'The Lord of the Rings' eindelijk op het zilveren scherm. Het inmiddels tien jaar oude epos staat rotsvast in mijn top-tien beste films aller tijden. Samen met de film werd de markt overspoeld met allerlei gadgets en verzamelobjecten... ik geef toe... niet allemaal even smaakvol...

 

Maar gelukkig was er  Weta, de mensen achter  de special effects, decors, kostuums en noem maar op, die onder andere een reeks replica's van de helmen op de markt bracht, schaal 1/4, gegoten in metaal en meestal gelimiteerd in oplage.

 

Dit is mijn verzameling (part 1): Sauron - Helm en strijdknots.

 

 

 

 As I mentioned earlier, I am a collector. In the early years 2000, the long expected 'Lord of the Rings' trilogy finally came to the silver screen. The (already) ten year old epic is one of my favourite movies of all times. Together with the movie, the market was overflowed with gadgets and collector items... not all equally tasteful I must say.

 

Fortunately there was Weta, the guys behind special effects, costumes, scenery etc..., who, among other great stuff, brought us replicas from the helmets (scale 1/4) from the movie, all metal and mostly limited.

This is my collection (part 1): Sauron - Helm and mace.

 

 

 

'Sons of Horus' Justaerin Terminator (Citadel)

 

 

Ik heb een oud miniatuur (Warhammer 40K uit de vroege jaren 90) opnieuw geschilderd in de kleuren van de Justaerin Terminators van de 'Sons of Horus'.  Door het nieuwe laagje verf zijn hier en daar een paar van de fijnste details jammer genoeg verdwenen...

 

 

 

 

I have repainted an old miniature (Warhammer 40K from the early 90ties) in the colours of the Justaerin Terminators from the 'Sons of Horus'. Because of the new layer of paint, some fine details were lost, unfortunately...

Na de 'Bultrug in blauw' vond leraar Bart het misschien wel eens interessant om het werkje 'in het groot' te doen. Dus ik aan de slag met dik aquarelpapier om een flink uit de kluiten gewassen walvis te schilderen. Het werd een arbeidsintensief werk (en een prima workout :-) )
Het werk is 1,10 x 2,20m en bestaat, net als'de 'Bultrug' enkel uit blauw.

After the 'Whale in Blue' my teacher thought it would be interesting to paint the work again, but this time BIG. So I started working on a big sheet of thick paper to paint the 'Big Blue'. It turned out to be an excellent workout :-)
The work measures 1,10 x 2,20m and consists, just like the 'Whale', only the colour blue.
