Don't touch my TARDIS... (Ainsty Castings)

De eerste 28mm miniaturen van de oogst van 'Crisis 2013' zijn geschilderd. Zowel de TARDIS als de onfortuinlijke figuur onder de bol zijn van Ansty Castings , goed gedetaileerde figuren in hars én mild voor de geldbeurs! De straatstenen zijn gesculpt uit styrodur (plaatjes uit modelschuim) van Shifting Lands. Het diorama heeft de titel 'Don't touch my TARDIS, I've got my eye on you' meegekregen. De oogbol was een uitdagende oefening in free painting...

 

The first 28mm miniatures from 'Crisis 2013' are painted. The TARDIS as well as the unfortunate man under the sphere are from Ansty Castings , very well detailed miniatures in resin and mild for the purse! The cobblestones are sculpted from styrodur (model foam) from Shifting Lands.

The diorame got the name 'Don't touch my TARDIS, I've got my eye on you'. The eyeball was a challenging exercise in free painting...

Dread Cthulhu, Great Old One, Eater of Worlds... (Scibor Monstrous Miniatures)

Sinds ik dertig jaar geleden mijn eerste verhaal van H.P. Lovecraft (1890-1937) las, ben ik als een blok gevallen voor de vreemde hersenspinsels van deze uitzonderlijke schrijver. Zijn inmiddels legendarische 'Cthulhu Mythos' heeft ontelbare SF, fantasy en horror schrijvers (King...) en filmregisseurs (Del Toro...) geïnspireerd...

Vorig jaar kreeg ik dit 28mm miniatuur van vrouwlief cadeau: de 'Great Cthulhu' van Scibor Monster Miniatures, naar mijn mening het beste Cthulhu model op de markt. Groot (maar liefst 17 cm!!), maar prachtig gedetailleerd, schitterend vorm gegeven en een droom om te schilderen (voor schildertips zie link 1, link 2 en link 3).

 

Since I read my first H.P. Lovecraft (1890-1937) story some thirty years ago, I've become a life long fan of the strange fiction of this remarkable writer. His legendary 'Cthulhu Mythos' has been an inspiration to countless SF, fantasy and horror writers (King...) and film directors (Del Toro...).

Last year I got this 28 mm miniature as a gift from my wife: the 'Great Cthulhu' from Scibor Monster Miniatures, to my opinion the best Cthulhu model on the market. Big (a whopping 17 cm/6,7 inch, but beautifully detailled, brilliantly sculpted and a dream to paint (for painting tips see link 1, link 2 and link 3).
